To give your web page the best chance of being given the best rank possible make sure you give your web page an SEO health check and focus on several key areas to position your site more effectively.

Title tag The title tag shows the name of you page and is displayed at the top of your internet browser when you open a web page. The title page is very important to search engines as it is an indicator of the subject of the page. Make sure you always have a title tag included in each of your pages and make sure that you try to include keywords relating to your site.

Description tag The search engine examines the description tag and most often displays the description you provide in the search results. The description should be keyword rich and contain up to 250 characters.

Keywords tag Its suggested that the Keywords tag is a waste of time as it is not searched by all search engines. In my opinion its still worth including the keyword tag because it's a legitimate tool to help optimize your site. It may not help much but, a little is still better than not at all.

Formatting Make sure that you format your page appropriately and use keywords wherever possible. Don't overdo things though, try to keep your pages keyword rich by about 5-10%.

When using SEO to optimize your site apply the following formatting rules below. Search engines take not of the points below.

* Headings * Bold Words * Italics * Bullet Points * Links within your site

Content Needless to say when you're trying to SEO your web page you need to have good quality keyword rich content. The more information you have on your site the more keywords and phrase's the search engine bots will pick up on while they are searching your site.

Images Images add style to your page but make sure you tag your pictures with keywords and take advantage of using your pictures for improving the SEO of your site by using the alt code in your html documents

Buttons Buttons look nice on your site but they don't help increase the SEO of your site. Using keyword rich hyperlinks will help.

Flash Don't rely on Flash animation to sell your site, it might look nice but, it doesn't serve any benefit to your SEO objective.

Toolbars You can add a tool bar from www.Google.com and www.Alexa.com that will be placed at the top of your browser and give you good information about page rank and traffic details. Both toolbars are free and can provide information that indicates the success of your site.
